1) DETENTION OFFICER: The Callaway County Jail has an opening for a Corrections Officer. 2) 911 DISPATCHER: Callaway County Joint Communications Center has an opening for Communications Operators. Annual starting salary is $38,000 ($18.26 per hour) with a full benefits package. After a successful training period, employees are eligible for up to $2,000 annual salary increase. Applicants will be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift-work. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent at time of hire. Must be able to type 35 wpm, handle high stress situations and be able to multi-task. DEPUTY COURT MARSHAL I– CALLAWAY COUNTY

Starting wage is $38,500 – $41,000 annually with option of a pay increase after a
6-month successful probationary period.

which is composed of one Court Marshal, two Sergeants, ten Deputy Court Marshals and three
Security Officers. Of those positions, one Sergeant two FT and two PT Deputy Court Marshals
work within the Callaway County Courthouse.

• Security screening of individuals entering the courthouse: x-ray machine operation, metal
detector operation, record-keeping.
• Courtroom security: opening and closing court sessions, handling files and evidence,
maintaining order.
• Building and grounds security: opening and closing building, monitoring equipment,
maintaining order.
• Maintain records of the marshal’s office, as required.
• Work with juries: greeting jury panelists, orientation of jurors, assisting jurors during jury
trials, providing security for jurors and sequestered jury trials.
• Law enforcement: arrest persons on outstanding warrants, upon order of the court, or as
a result of law violations on courthouse premises; take individuals into custody upon
order of the court; receive reports of law violations occurring on courthouse property.
• Complete bond investigations as ordered by the court.
• Maintain records for individuals on Home Detention
• Maintain records for individuals completing Community Service
• Assist the Jury Services Office by processing questionnaires and preparing
summons
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be POST certified as a Missouri Police Officer

The Deputy Public Administrator (Probationary) manages a caseload of incapacitated and disabled adults as a court-appointed fiduciary, requiring independent decision-making within established office policies. The role supports the Public Administrator, Chief Deputy Public Administrator, and Financial Deputy, ensuring professionalism, accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in all tasks.The starting salary for this position is $36,000 annually and comes with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, paid vacation/sick/holiday leave, free life insurance policies, etc.
- Social Services and Legal Activities (50%)
- Manage client cases, participate in service planning, and collaborate with the Public Administrator, Chief Deputy Public Administrator and Financial Deputy.
- Assist in finding community resources for clients, such as housing, medical and behavioral health services, and independent living support.
- Develop and maintain treatment plans that prioritize client independence, dignity, protection, and safety and ensure the least restrictive alternative according to Missouri law.
- Advocate for clients, ensuring clinical decisions and treatment options are accurate, timely, and confidential.
- Investigate issues, mediate conflicts, and make decisions that balance the needs of all involved parties.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, including face-to-face visits and phone communication.
- Monitor client status during medical or behavioral health inpatient care.
- Maintain and update all medical and legal documents related to the client as needed.
- Complete and submit Annual Status Reports to the Probate Court, per Missouri statute (RSMo Section 475.082).
- Financial Management (30%)
- Assist with inventories, annual settlements, and investigate clients’ income, assets, and eligibility for benefits.
- Collaborate with case managers to address financial issues and establish client budgets.
- Stay informed on benefit programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, Supplemental Insurance, VA, and Social Security.
- Other Duties (20%)
- Serve as backup for incoming calls overnight or on weekends, ensuring professionalism and timeliness.
- Attend court hearings related to guardianship, conservatorship, and client restoration. Also, attend court hearings related to decedent probate estates.
- Participate in ongoing education and certification programs as required.
- Obtain National Guardianship Certification within two years of court appointment as a Deputy Public Administrator.
- Stay current with MAPA (Missouri Association of Public Administrators) and NGA (National Guardianship Association) standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice) or equivalent education and experience.
- Preferred experience with financial management tools like Quicken or QuickBooks.
- Experience in social services, legal services, or healthcare services.
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate with the ability to accurately manage legal, medical, and financial documents.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Basic American Sign Language (ASL) skills are a plus but not required.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
Work Environment:
- Office-based work (80%), with occasional travel to various client locations (20%).
- Some travel during inclement weather may be required.
ADA/Physical Demands:
- Adequate vision for data entry and reading documentation.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly for communication via phone and in person.
- Must be able to drive to client locations within the state.
Probationary Period:
The position includes a probationary period during which performance will be evaluated.
