1) DETENTION OFFICER: The Callaway County Jail has an opening for a Corrections Officer. Starting salary is $41,000.00 annually ($19.71 per hour) with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, paid vacation/sick/holiday leave, life insurance, etc. Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent at time of hire. 2) 911 DISPATCHER: Callaway County Joint Communications Center has an opening for Communications Operators. Annual starting salary is $36,000 ($17.31 per hour) with a full benefits package. After a successful training period, employees are eligible for up to $2,000 annual salary increase. Applicants will be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift-work. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent at time of hire. Must be able to type 35 wpm, handle high stress situations and be able to multi-task. 3) DEPUTY SHERIFF: The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Road Deputy. 4) MAINTENANCE WORKER / CDL DRIVER: The Callaway County Road & Bridge Department is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Worker / CDL Driver position.
Applicant must possess a valid Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement and pass a pre-employment drug test.
The starting salary for this position is $30,000 annually ($14.42 per hour) with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, paid vacation/sick/holiday leave, free life insurance, etc.
The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Operating a single axle or tandem axle dump truck.
- Operating small to large sized motor vehicles and a variety of equipment to haul materials and support construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of County roads.
- Performing snow removal activities.
- Mowing along County roads.
- Assisting with loading, securing, and unloading materials and equipment.
- Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; referring defects or repairs to supervisor.
- Receiving special assignments from Road & Bridge Foreman.
- Other duties, as needed.

5) FAMILY COURT COMMISSIONER: The 13th Judicial Circuit Court is receiving resumes for consideration of appointment as Family Court Commissioner. Appointment will be made by the Court en Banc for a four-year term. The Family Court Commissioner shall devote full time to the duties of commissioner and shall not engage in the private practice of law.
Salary: $ 156,214.00
Start Date: March 1, 2024
Summary of Duties:
The Family Court Commissioner shall hear and determine contested and uncontested cases subject to the jurisdiction of the Family Court. The commissioner will primarily preside over dissolutions motions to modify, and paternity cases. The commissioner upon appointment, must have completed, or within six months after appointment, complete a course of training in Family Law with annual continuing education being offered through the judicial college.
Qualifications:
The Family Court Commissioner shall possess the same qualifications as a circuit judge as set forth in Article 5, Section 21 of the Missouri Constitution. The qualification, jurisdiction, term of office, and compensation for the position shall be those found in RSMo 487.020, 487.050, and 487.080, including being a resident of the 13th Circuit at the time of appointment.

6) ROAD & BRIDGE ENGINEER / ADMINISTRATOR: The Callaway County Commission is accepting applications for a full-time Road & Bridge Engineer / Highway Administrator position. Directs and oversees all aspects of the Road & Bridge Department, including engineering, construction, maintenance, and traffic operations.

Makes a determination regarding projects to be completed. Makes site visits and determines the scope of the project working in-house or with consultants. Completes the design for the project, along with the cost estimates and comparisons.

Communicates project and scope with the Callaway County Commission and applicable land owners.

Ordering supplies and equipment needed for each project.

Supervises and participates in the development and implementation of public works projects, including preparing and monitoring project budgets and completion deadlines, staffing, and other issues.

Hires and terminates personnel, as needed.

Provides coaching, training, and disciplinary action for personnel, as needed.

In conjunction with the Road & Bridge Foreman, makes duty assignments and schedules, assuring for coverage and ongoing maintenance assignments.

Serves as the technical advisor to the Callaway County Commission on all department matters.

Develops, plans, and implements long and short-term departmental goals and objectives; recommends and administers policies and procedures; plans, directs, and reviews the activities of the department.

Develops annual budget for the Road & Bridge Department; presents the budget for approval; administers and manages in concert with the approved budget.

Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment. Assures that reorders are placed, as needed.

Supervises the bid process, including bid specs, bid letting, and bid awarding, assuring for fairness and compliance with Callaway County policies.

• Security screening of individuals entering the courthouse: x-ray machine operation, metal
detector operation, record-keeping.
• Courtroom security: opening and closing court sessions, handling files and evidence,
maintaining order.
• Building and grounds security: opening and closing building, monitoring equipment,
maintaining order.
• Maintain records of the marshal’s office, as required.
• Work with juries: greeting jury panelists, orientation of jurors, assisting jurors during jury
trials, providing security for jurors and sequestered jury trials.
• Law enforcement: arrest persons on outstanding warrants, upon order of the court, or as
a result of law violations on courthouse premises; take individuals into custody upon
order of the court; receive reports of law violations occurring on courthouse property.
